Welsh Poppies

 

 

One of my favourite new pieces -before I started work on "The Dress" which is all consuming - "The Dress" is my daughter's wedding dress it has been a long process from creating a pattern to fitting muslins and now working with beaded georgette. I am learning a lot from the process as it is way out of my comfort zone - mostly handwork. I have glass beads everywhere as you have to remove them from the seam allowances before you can sew it. I have also underlined the beaded top to stabilize it and have had to handstitch the 2 layers together - very time consuming.
This art quilt is based on a field of poppies I saw in Wales - the field was breathtaking.
